about

Written by Wayne Gottlieb. A spoof on the old blues songs that talk about how difficult their lives are. This one comes of as a winey braggy guy who doesn't know how go0d he has it.

lyrics

I’ve got all my fingers and all 10 toes Yes, I’m a healthy man
My LDL is under 75 yes I’m fit and I’m trim and I’m tanned

When I was a kid we had plenty to eat And my momma treated me right
I grew up on the right side of the tracks I got 8 hours of sleep every night

But, I’ve lived a hard life, a real hard life.
I may have all the comforts a man can desire, but I’ve suffered more than my share of strife…a real hard life

I fell in love with the girl of my dreams
And that girl loved me right back
She had an IQ well over 155 and wasn’t half bad in the sack

I got A’s in every subject. Lettered on the football team
Went to College on a scholarship, but things weren’t as good as they seem.

Cause I’ve had some bad days, some real bad days
Why just last week I bought a 10 pound duck and damned if that bird wouldn’t braise.

I’ve got a ‘62 Cobra, with real wire wheels, you know that’s one sweet ride
I’ve got a 4-car garage attached to the house, but the jag has to park outside.

I’m in an R and B band called the Pelotones we play at all the local hot spots
We get invited to all the fingerakes vineyards, the soirees the parties and yauchts.

But I’ve had some sad years, some real sad years
When they told me my portfolio was down 30 points I had to fight to hold back the tears .

But I’ve had some tough times, some real tough times.
When I was writing this song, I found it hard to admit, I’d finally run out of rhymes.
